Billericay and Wickford sites considered for development
Basildon Borough Council has been consulting residents on its proposals for over 27,000 new homes in the Borough over the next twenty years. Of the 27,000 homes, 16,000 homes are proposed on green belt land.
Basildon's housing target has been increased by new Labour Government by 24%, along with neighbouring districts in South Essex. Controversially the targets for London were reduced.
The local plan consultation is closing on Sunday 12th January 2025. Whilst it has been undertaken over the busy Christmas period, the consultation has ran for longer than is required by legislation.
I've heard from residents about the difficulty in using the site and placing their feedback in the appropriate place. To help I've provided below a link to the documents for the individual sites across Billericay and Wickford.
We encourage residents to persevere with the consultation site and leave their feedback on the sites.
